Hotel Avenida was built in 1945 by Mrs. Emília Pires e Pires, a Spanish national. It was sold to the Morais family in 1969, the restaurant located on the ground floor was transformed into shops, but during the civil war the building was occupied and degraded. Years later, the Morais family refurbished and remodeled the building, to became the Hotel Avenida of excellence.
